Ipad 3.2.2 Jailbroken

limera1n
I just cracked my ipad 3.2.2 with limera1n

Here are a few tips on what to do once your ipad/iphone/itouch is jailbroken

  1. download cydia
  2. download openssh
  3. download preference loader
  4. download activator
  5. goto manage > settings > add repository > cydia.hackulo.us
  6. download installo.us

i dont recommend downloading winterboard just yet, as it is not ready for ipad yet.

invalid IPA error
if your getting this error, it means that most likely you either have to update appSync or you havent allowed the files to fully download. installo.us is an iOS app and thus does not have multithreading capabilities like the appStore. this means that you have to keep installo.us open when downloading and you cant close it like you do the appStore.

  1. Dear Greg, help pls!!! I jail broke my iPad 3.2.2 with limera1n but keep getting the invalid ipa error for e.g. sally’s spa. My Appsync is for OS 3.2 version 1.0.1-3 from hackulo.us. Did u use this version and/or do u have an Appsync for 3.2.2? Appreciate your help!! Many thanks!!!

  2. Hi Greg, I´m exactly with the same Hazel´s problem. I have downloaded FIFA 11 for e.g. and when I clik to install appears the message “invalid IPA”. What can I do to solve this?

  3. The reason you guys are getting an invalid IPA is caused by probably one of these issues:
    1. appsync is the wrong version, goto cydia > hackulo.us and download the correct version. in this case the version should be 3.2
    2. installo.us on the ipad is not a multi-threaded app, since the iOs on ipad is 3.2.2 and not yet the new version that the iphone 4 has. because of this you will have to keep installo.us open until the app has finished downloading. if you do not, then it will say the app completed download when it really has not. you can check this by looking at the size downloaded. another solution is to download cydia > backgroundr which will allow you to run things in the background. its kinda buggy for me so i just leave installous open.

  4. I have tried both solutions before I even read this post and I STILL can’t fix this darned “invalid IPA” problem when I download apps. SOME apps (the free ones as far as I can tell) are able to download, but everything else I get the error on.

I am running the 3GS 3.1.3 firmware with the Spirit hack. I have reinstalled AppSync 3.1.3 several times. I have installed different versions of Installous, from both the Hackulous source and the SinfulIphone… whatever source.

No one on the net seems to know the true answer. This AppSync reinstallation seems to work for some, but not for others. I am of course waiting until the whole app downloads AND I have deleted and redownloaded them after each update…

    (sigh)

    Any thoughts, oh Wise Ones?
